The right bolt for the Excalibur Micro 380

The correct bolt length, nock and minimum grain weight for the Excalibur Micro 380, and what stops a dry-fire.

Dry-fire warning

Crossbow bolt data and archery arrow spine, nock and thread data are quoted from each manufacturer's published figures, owner documentation and industry standards, cited on every page. A nock, spine or grain-weight mismatch can cause a dry-fire that damages the bow and can injure the shooter. Confirm against your own owner's manual and the arrow maker's own chart before shooting, and never drop below the stated minimum total weight.

The Excalibur Micro 380 uses a 16.5 in bolt with a Flat nock, minimum 350 gr total minimum (Excalibur caution). Buy the Excalibur Quill 16.5 in carbon arrow with flat nock.

Field notes

The Micro 380 is an Excalibur recurve in the Micro series at 380 fps, shipped with four 16.5-inch Quill arrows on a flat nock. It is the first Micro to add Ceasefire dry-fire protection.

The Micro takes the short 16.5-inch bolt, not a 20-inch one. Keep the flat-nocked Quill or Proflight arrow, and do not drop below 350 total grains, which Excalibur cautions against.
