The right bolt for the Barnett Explorer XP405
The correct bolt length, nock and minimum grain weight for the Barnett Explorer XP405, and what stops a dry-fire.
Dry-fire warning
Crossbow bolt data and archery arrow spine, nock and thread data are quoted from each manufacturer's published figures, owner documentation and industry standards, cited on every page. A nock, spine or grain-weight mismatch can cause a dry-fire that damages the bow and can injure the shooter. Confirm against your own owner's manual and the arrow maker's own chart before shooting, and never drop below the stated minimum total weight.

The Explorer XP405 is a standard (non-Hyper) Barnett at 405 fps that ships with two 20-inch Headhunter carbon arrows on a half-moon nock. It is a full-diameter arrow bow, not a Hyper bow.
The half-moon nock must be indexed with the odd-coloured vane seated as the manual shows, or the string can ride the groove wall and dry-fire the bow. Do not fit a small-diameter HyperFlite arrow here.
