The right bolt for the Ravin R10

The correct bolt length, nock and minimum grain weight for the Ravin R10, and what stops a dry-fire.

Dry-fire warning

Bolt length, nock type and minimum grain weight are quoted from each manufacturer's published arrow data and owner documentation, cited on every page. A nock or grain-weight mismatch can cause a dry-fire that damages the bow and can injure the shooter. Confirm against your own owner's manual before shooting, and never drop below the stated minimum total grain weight.

The Ravin R10 uses a 20 in bolt with a Ravin clip-on nock, minimum 400 gr total (300 gr shaft + 100 gr point). Buy the Ravin.003 20 in arrow with Ravin polymer clip-on nock.

Field notes

The R10 is a compact HeliCoil Ravin at 400 fps that cocks on just 12 pounds of draw. It is not an R500, so it takes the standard 20-inch Ravin.003 arrow with the Ravin clip-on nock.

A half-moon or flat nock will not clip Ravin's string and is a derailment risk on the steep-angle cams. Use Ravin.003 arrows only, and never the R500 arrow.
