The right bolt for the Ravin R18

The correct bolt length, nock and minimum grain weight for the Ravin R18, and what stops a dry-fire.

Dry-fire warning

Bolt length, nock type and minimum grain weight are quoted from each manufacturer's published arrow data and owner documentation, cited on every page. A nock or grain-weight mismatch can cause a dry-fire that damages the bow and can injure the shooter. Confirm against your own owner's manual before shooting, and never drop below the stated minimum total grain weight.

The Ravin R18 uses a 20 in bolt with a Ravin clip-on nock, minimum 400 gr total (300 gr shaft + 100 gr point). Buy the Ravin.003 20 in arrow with Ravin polymer clip-on nock.

Field notes

The compact R18 still uses the full 20-inch Ravin.003 arrow and the Ravin clip-on nock, the same arrow as the larger Ravin models. It is not an R500, so the standard Ravin.003 is correct.

The R18 being small does not mean it takes a shorter or generic bolt. It is the standard 20-inch Ravin arrow with the Ravin clip-on nock; anything else negates the warranty.
