The right bolt for the Ravin R26X

The correct bolt length, nock and minimum grain weight for the Ravin R26X, and what stops a dry-fire.

Dry-fire warning

Bolt length, nock type and minimum grain weight are quoted from each manufacturer's published arrow data and owner documentation, cited on every page. A nock or grain-weight mismatch can cause a dry-fire that damages the bow and can injure the shooter. Confirm against your own owner's manual before shooting, and never drop below the stated minimum total grain weight.

The Ravin R26X uses a 20 in bolt with a Ravin clip-on nock, minimum 400 gr total (300 gr shaft + 100 gr point). Buy the Ravin.003 20 in arrow with Ravin polymer clip-on nock.

Field notes

The R26X is the faster X version of the R26, still a non-R500 Ravin, so it uses the standard 20-inch Ravin.003 arrow with the Ravin clip-on nock. The clip captures the string on the steep HeliCoil cams.

At these speeds a non-Ravin nock can leave the string and derail. Use only the Ravin.003 arrow and its clip-on nock; the R500 arrow is not compatible with the R26X.
