Field notes

The Ravin R29 uses 20-inch, 400-grain Ravin arrows with the proprietary Ravin Clip-on nock, as its R26/R29 instruction manual states. The clip physically captures the string, which is what keeps the arrow on the string at Ravin speeds.

Ravin says to use only 20-inch 400-grain Ravin arrows with the Clip-on nock, and not to use Ravin arrows on any other crossbow. A half-moon or flat nock will not clip Ravin's string and is a derailment and dry-fire risk. Note the R500 uses a different, R500-specific nock and arrow.
