The right bolt for the Barnett HyperTac 420
The correct bolt length, nock and minimum grain weight for the Barnett HyperTac 420, and what stops a dry-fire.
Dry-fire warning
Bolt length, nock type and minimum grain weight are quoted from each manufacturer's published arrow data and owner documentation, cited on every page. A nock or grain-weight mismatch can cause a dry-fire that damages the bow and can injure the shooter. Confirm against your own owner's manual before shooting, and never drop below the stated minimum total grain weight.

The HyperTac 420 is a Hyper-series Barnett, so it takes the 22-inch small-diameter HyperFlite arrow with its capture nock, not a standard Barnett Headhunter bolt. The.204-inch shaft is why the barrel is cut differently from a standard Barnett.
A standard 20-inch half-moon Barnett Headhunter arrow is the wrong diameter for the Hyper barrel. The Hyper series is only for HyperFlite, HyperGhost, HyperTac 420/430 and Hyper Whitetail 410 arrows.
